The Little Red Cabin in South Lake Tahoe is in the perfect location! Take a 5 minute walk and you can find yourself in the Ski Run Marina where the views of the lake are spectacular and, if you dare, you can go for a swim. In addition, there are various shops (including ski equipment and boat rentals), and restaurants within walking distance. Riva’s and Artemis at the marina, Chimayo’s Tacos, 5 Guys Burgers, The Red Hut and The Brewery surround the cabin and don’t need a car to get you there. Head to Naked Fish for sushi and Izabella’s for Italian. If breakfast is the meal, then Heidi’s is the place. Established in 1964, the quality is unsurpassed. Another one of our favorites is the Himmel Haus located 1.5 miles from the Cabin, which specializes in German cuisine and beer. If you are celebrating, then Edgewood is the place at Stateline or a tiny little upscale restaurant called Café Fiore are the places. You can also head to the Village of Heavenly which is less than a mile away and has an assortment of restaurants and brew places, many with live music.
Of course, South Lake Tahoe has many events happening all throughout the year due to the plentiful casinos located at Stateline, just a few minutes from the cabin. These casinos have a number of cafes, restaurants, shops and spas if you’re interested in going that route.
Grocery stores are plentiful, Whole Foods is visible down Bowers Avenue and due to open this Fall. There is also a Safeway and a Raley’s less than half a mile away, in addition to budget grocery outlets scattered along Tahoe Blvd.
Skis and snowboards are available from any of the half a dozen ski rental stores on Ski Run Boulevard. We have used “Powder House Rainbow Mountain Ski & Snowboard” and have been pleased with the service. We advise you to rent the equipment the evening before you ski as you will cut your time in half. Heavenly ski resort is only 1.5 miles away.
The Little Red Cabin is spacious and comfortable, easily housing a party of 12. Two of the five bedrooms have two beds each, and the loft has 3 sets of bunk beds (6 single beds). 3 of the bedrooms have their own bathrooms, with an additional family bathroom located on the lower level. The family room has a full-size pool table and free access to Netflix and Prime Video. The kitchen is fully equipped and can easily accommodate a party of 14 (10 at the table and 4 at the bar).
We have spent quite a few days at The Little Red Cabin and have enjoyed ourselves and the amenities surrounding us. We hope you also experience the same joy and create many happy memories.
