Just off the back deck is the trail to the Cowlitz River. If you are lucky, you may see a herd of the famous Packwood elk. Great location, only 20 minutes from White Pass Ski Area for fabulous snow skiing/boarding or snowshoeing. In the summer,15 minutes to the entrance of Mt. Rainier Natl Park or explore the Gifford Pinchot Natl Forest. A little farther drive, visit Mt. St. Helens, the famous mountain that blew her top in 1980!
