Summary: We stayed here last year for Spring Break and had a great experience. The hotel is affordable, nice breakfast, clean, comfortable and convenient. However, we neglected to call BEFORE booking to confirm the pool was operational. Guess what? It wasn't. Needless to say, we had 4 devastated kids that were so excited to swim and couldn't and we couldn't cancel and of course there was no voucher or discount given. Why the hotel picked the week of spring break for pool renovations befuddles me. Did they not know loads of families would be coming to town and want to swim? Just a tip for the future, La Quinta: do your pool reno/cleaning in mid-Feb or late April or Sept or some other random time; NOT during Spring Break.
