Positive: The location 'hyper centre' is great, BUT... the night club across the street is a problem: all nights except Sunday and Monday there is a lot of noise in the street from (drunken) people coming and going, especially after closing time (5AM). By closing the windows and shutters and using earplugs we could handle the noise, but this apartment is not for light sleepers. The apartment is spacious and nicely decorated, good kitchen and great bathroom, good facilities, good (rather soft) bed, lots of storage space. During our 3-week stay we twice got a free cleaning service (including a freshly made up bed, new towels etc.)

Negative: As mentioned the location at 50 meters from a busy nightclub is far from ideal. Getting there by car in the narrow one-way streets and unloading luggage is a challenge, as there is absolutely no possibility for parking, not even for 5 minutes. To climb three flights of stairs with luggage is not ideal either, but this is a common thing in the centre of Aix and we knew it when we booked. On the first day (24H) of our stay we were unable to reach the host by phone or whatsapp. The induction hob was locked, and we could not figure out how to use the oven, and there were no instructions or manuals. After contacting Booking we finally received help, and things were quickly solved. It was rather cold in France during our stay, and the central heating in the apartment combined with the hot air airco (at maximum power) was barely enough to be comfortable.

Summary: We love Aix and our 3-week stay in the Rue Frédéric Mistral was okay, with ++ and - -
